In the first nine minuets of the opening of robin hood we get given alot of infomation about what we are going to see in the film the first thing we get is the hero who is played by Russel Crow who is playing robin hood in this film we can tell he is the heor by actions we get to see him do such as comming out of a forest sharing the food he has caught on his hunt with the other soilders. Another thing what hints that he is the hero is that when the screne changes on to piece of old wiherd parchtment is says "in king Richards army there is an archer Robin hood" this shows a sort of relationship between him and the king because out of the vast thousands of men in his army he chooses to notice this one indervidual arher.The thing that gives us the scence that he is the hero the most is how he performes in battle throughout this scene when he is commanding and fireing arrows and riscing his life for his best friend all these actions add up making him one definate hero.

the next thing i will talk about is the mise en scene what realy tells us what sort of conditions and time period.This film is based in the 12th centery we know this because at the beging of the film it actuly tells us and two the style of clothing and weapons that they ar using. First i will talk aout the clothing the clothing on most of the charecters are similar mainly cosisting of cloth leather and in some cases metal on of the main costums what realy gives you the time of this film is King Richards his costum is full armour with a red fabric on the front of this wearing his crown this this is what a steriotypical medievil king would look like back then.the. The seacond thing that gives the time period away is the weapons the weapons that you can see are bows,arrows.swords,axes,maces,shields and hot oil all these weapons where used around the medievil times and are used consistantly used throughout the film.
